Redirection and path
The installation programs do not modify your clarion redirection file or the system path
environment variable. In most cases a previous 3rd Party installation will have done this for
you - if not, you will need to make the changes manually.
The Redirection file:
In the Clarion IDE, use the Setup | Edit Redirection File menu option. In the [Common] section
three important entries may need adding or changing before QView can be used:
The Path Environment Variable:
Windows 9x/ME users need to modify the autoexec.bat file and restart. Open autoexec.bat
(usually in c:\) in an editor and locate where the path environment variable is being set (this
example from a Clarion 6 installation):
Modify the path to include the 3rdParty\Bin folder:
Save the changes and restart your computer.
With later versions of windows your path is changed from the Control Panel - run "System",
select the "Advanced" tab and press the "Environment Variables" button. In the lower list,
locate the Path environment variable (this example from a computer with Clarion 5 and 5.5
Edit the path to include relevant 3rdparty\bin folders, in this case the environment variable changes to:
Save the changes (no need to restart windows, but if the Clarion IDE is open you will need to close and
restart it to pick-up the modified path).
