Redirection and path

The installation programs do not modify your clarion redirection file or the system path environment variable.  In most cases a previous 3rd Party installation will have done this for you - if not, you will need to make the changes manually.

The Redirection file:

In the Clarion IDE, use the Setup | Edit Redirection File menu option. In the [Common] section three important entries may need adding or changing before QView can be used:

The Path Environment Variable:

Windows 9x/ME users need to modify the autoexec.bat file and restart. Open autoexec.bat (usually in c:\) in an editor and locate where the path environment variable is being set (this example from a Clarion 6 installation):

Modify the path to include the 3rdParty\Bin folder:

Save the changes and restart your computer.

With later versions of windows your path is changed from the Control Panel - run "System", select the "Advanced" tab and press the "Environment Variables" button. In the lower list, locate the Path environment variable (this example from a computer with Clarion 5 and 5.5 installed):

Edit the path to include relevant 3rdparty\bin folders, in this case the environment variable changes to:

Save the changes (no need to restart windows, but if the Clarion IDE is open you will need to close and restart it to pick-up the modified path).
